Creating a Template from an existing works order

Templates are created to reduce the need to recreate repeat orders; operations, materials, parts and subcon elements can be entered once with minor changes dependent on future orders.  The major difference between copying an order and creating a template is a template will be assigned its own unique number identifiable by a prefix of TJ.

Open Works Order

Create Works Order as per Standard Order Entry

On completion of the works order, select the Actions button or right click to display the following menu options.

Select Copy to Template

The following prompt will appear, select Yes

The template will be created and assigned a unique job number identifying it as a template.

When the following prompt appears, select Yes to open the template or No to remain on the copied works order.

The template has now been created.
