What is a nominal code?

19 views 0

A Nominal Code, also called an Account Code, is used to group accounting information together and enables you to produce summarised accounting reports. The collection of account (nominal) codes makes up the Chart of Accounts.

You may, for example, use a different nominal code for purchasing stationary to the one used for purchasing sub contract work.
