Work Centres screen records details relating to operations, these will include operating time and the cost of the operation.

Centre Id – enter a unique reference for the work centre (8 characters max) this will appear on the job card

Name – long description of the work centre, this does not normally appear on the job card

Shift – drop down box to select a shift pattern for this work centre (Tricorn Planning Board only)

Planner Colour – drop down selection box of preset colours to assign against the work centre (Tricorn Planning Board only)

Work Centre Image – use the double chevron to open the page to insert a picture of the work centre

Category – groups work centres into categories

Inspection Level – records the default level of inspection for the work centre

Setting Time – default setting time (if any) this can be changed or entered manually when operations are put on quotes and works orders

Run Time – default run time (if any) this can be changed or entered manually when operations are put on quotes and works orders

Cost per Hour – default hourly rate for this work centre; it can be changed or entered manually when put on quotes or works orders.  The relevant field in either quotations or works orders can be left blank however; it is recommended a value is included to reduce the need for additional data entry

Hours per Week – number of hours per week this centre is available, this is not a mandatory field

Uplift – percentage uplift that will be applied when calculating costs, this field can be left blank

Schedule Days – default number of days for operations of this type.  The inserted value in this field can be used within the Tricorn Planning Board instead of assigning hour/minutes/seconds.

External Work – tick this box if the operation is for a subcontractor; used to indicate within the Scheduler the job is no longer on the premises for the timescale indicated in the works order. Tick this box if the facility to use planning by days is required, used in conjunction with Schedule Days, contact Tricorn Software for information.

Monitor – tick this box if the work centre/operation is to be included in the work station monitor (separate software linked to scanners)

Auto Break – tick this box if this work centre/operation is to be included in any auto break settings

WIP Value – used to calculate the overhead recovery figure, used for reporting only

Notes – record any notes relating to this work centre, these notes will appear on the job card
